It is the dead of night, I am all alone in this rumbling old house. What has stirred my slumber? A chill is invading the very marrow of my bones. I pull the thick down comforter up around my neck, In the vain attempt to feel some warmth ---Or perhaps to shield me from some unseen force. The house is alive with unearthly sounds. I can almost hear it calling my name. I am in the clutches of a fear so great, I cannot speak or cry out, Tho' it would be to no avail, For I am all alone---or am I? |

Dragon Mistress & Wranx----Glad you both enjoyed it! It's easy to paint a picture with words when it comes from a place of passion----in this case it was from a place of terror----or at least from my memories of the terror! I couldn't have written a word at the time I was experiencing it!---I was literally scared stiff! Linda |
