"i'm fixin' to go to the airport" my exuberant southern "friend" told me and, afterwards i wanted to just sit and laugh the drawing of such dialect never heard before that moment i wanted to laugh but all i could do was smile in all my moments of thought of what words i'd hear from the one's tender heart "i'm fixin' to" was just not there but now, after much contemplation and indeed much elated joy i love those words for as i anticipate arrival "i'm fixin to" welcome my friend to share his uniqueness in my humble new york abode to all those here who are "fixin' to" get a glowing surprise they will all be amused and yet, when by themselves smile as i still do for in his "fixin' to" go to the airport he fixed my thought which was, originally that "i'm fixin' to give up" thanks, my fixin' to friend for your gift of wishes and for all you did when you decided you were "fixin' to" i'll always need a friend, one i can defend. |

YES my sweet!!! I was born and raised in Indiana...and that word? fixin? I was always wondering about it...heard everyone using it, tried it myself...then got scolded by my mom that the only thing "fixin" is the dinner...LMAO (she is from California) thanks for the mushy memories with this one!!! Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |
