crackling sneer scarbright on tanned veneer plagued by alone standing crone among her ancient eden They sidewalked on their way sidelong glances was her pay haunted through her painted gaze she branded each with numbered days no gossip would reveal that every I had seen the same but subconscious listened heard her lips glisten whispering every name For they had all sub-urbaned on her disturbed remains and she was beyond subtle ghostly pleasures I never aimed at reality; I aimed at truth. --Orson Welles |
