MEANINGLESS Crying myself to sleep, sometimes not even knowing why. I am so weak, but act much stronger. I can't hide in this mask forever, don't even know how much longer. A fake smile & laughs, should really be sobs & a frown. What happens when I can't hide anymore, & my wall comes crumbling down? Can I live a normal life, & be who I really am? Can I open up completly, to the one I truly love? Living a life of confusion. Not knowing where it leads. How can I give my life meaning, if I don't know what it already means? Will it ever get better, or will it just get worse? I feel like I'm the only one hurting, the only one who has this curse. I know my life is real, but meaningless, is how I feel! i know how it feels to put a smile on to cover the sorrow...the sun does poke it's head out every now and then  lovely poem, says so much to so many  |

Wow, you just opened up my head and read my mind! lol I can so identify with this poem and the feelings you have expressed here. Your sorrow and frustration is so beautifully written. Masks are what help us move forward and endure in order to face the world. Even the most open person wears one from time to time. Your poem was very lovely and heartfelt. Strange that sorrow is lovely? Well it's not the sorrow in the words that is lovely, it's the pattern they weave. Moonlight, James Good cannot exist without evil. Darkness I embrace. |

Yes... I loved this; probably because I WROTE IT. You can't argue the fact. I have proof. Thanks. No way, I wrote this! I admit that I have accidently posted something that i had in my poetry book that was not mine before, but I can remember clearly writing this, occationally I use ideas from other poems i have read, but not the exact words!! |

Elmo, how long ago did you write that? I distinctly remember Jess showing me that poem via MSN messenger around late July, early August of this year (somewhere in that range), because I remember printing out a copy of it to put in a book that I keep of some of my favorite poets. I wrote this back in like '99 & I posted it on here a long time ago! I was reposting it because I haven't had much time for new stuff due to my final exams this week! I actually just wrote a new poem tonight though on my way home from class so maybe i will post that one, but i dunno some1 might say i copied that one too !!!
