Spirits Of The Wine I drink tonight, alone again, And toast a dream long dead; ‘Twixt now and a “remember when” In something she once said. In smiles, in words, so well rehearsed, You know I just couldn't tell… I used to wonder who fell first, Now I know only too well. Where does a dreamer go to die? A soul to fade away? When the world embraces a lie And leaves love to decay. Who dons the chalice of relief? Who sanctifies the creed? Who broadens the spectrum of grief? To lay you to their need. I drink tonight, alone again, The sacrifice, divine; Giving my heart unto the pen, My spirits to the wine. Michael Anderson But dreams of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned and die. EAP |

I was reading this, with my interests peaked and I had already picked a favorite verse. But I changed my mind when I read this: ============================================= I drink tonight, alone again, The sacrifice, divine; Giving my heart unto the pen, My spirits to the wine. ============================================= Very well written. "Hearts will become practical when they make them unbreakable" ~The Wizard of Oz Much love all, Krissie |

Loved this Michael - superb! "Where does a dreamer go to die? A soul to fade away? When the world embraces a lie And leaves love to decay." Terrific word usage throughout the whole piece... enjoyed. Take care ~ Tara ~ may you live all the days of your life. -- jonathan swift |

Superb writing, Michael. May the pain subside and the spirit revive. Until then, may your writing heal you and all those who could not verbalize their suffering. Shenachie |
