It’s been a year since I’ve seen your face around I vividly remember the day I saw you leave this sorry old town You told me it was for good, But then the next thing I know you just show up Don’t you know by now that I’ve buried you in me deep? Hidden away so I could go another day without crying myself to sleep Everyone told me to move on, just to forget you But it’s hard to put away a lengthy past when you’re still here Just recently I’ve been getting use to going on with life without you So that’s why when you try to talk to me, I turn away like a cruel hearted fool I mean I should be happy Just to know that you came back just to see me I don’t know why I’ve acted the way I have been lately It’s just sometimes the pain inside hurts so badly And I don’t know how to make it stop I don’t know how to make myself accept the fact that you’re here for real I just don’t want to let you in, Just to let you go again I told you I couldn’t handle the fact that you were leaving And I still can’t cope with the fact that you were even returning I mean tears just don’t say goodbye just to say it again It goes the same to lovers, strangers and friends I know the things I say aren’t very friendly But they’re coming from within me If you really knew me, Then you wouldn’t be standing outside my door Just waiting for me to come out so you could see me once more Because you would know that you’ve hurt me too much That just an apology or a simple ‘I miss you’ just isn’t enough Why don’t you just fade away again? Like you did that day to my heart Just leave me Like when you left me before I am crying on my hands and knees on the floor Because I can’t stand it anymore So turn around and leave like you did before, But this time don’t come back for sure "You do what you do, you say what you say, you try to be everything to everyone... come on now, do that stupid dance for me" -Everclear |

It's sad.......your love for him is great. I see it strong and pure......but you knowing how yer going to lose him doesn't let you let him in your heart. It's sad that he's right there......and you can give him one more kiss, one more hug and so on......but you won't.......because you won't take the chance....... life is full of chances.......and love doesn't come around too often.  I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I'm in love with my shadow I admire it daily |

I really like the poem, but I agree with Dopey, you should take the chance. Love is like a priceless jewel. So maybe you had a painful past, that doesn't mean your future will be the same. I wont give any advice on what to do, it's too risky cause if somethin goes wrong you could blame it on me and I would end up the cause for the end of the world. Ok so I'm not that important...anyways great poem, really sad though. My favorite kind. I'm sorry that happened to you but at least you can say you gained great inspiration for greater poems. >¶Øʆ< |

Oh, love lost. Sigh. And now he is back and you don't want to try anymore, it's going to be too hard if he leaves again. I know your pain...I totally feel you. When my ex- boyfriend left me to go back to Tex. ( he's a Florida-born/ Texas native and he returns every so often to see his father) I pushed him away long before he ever left. I broke up with him, but now, sometimes, I regret not giving it a chance to fully blossom. That happens sometimes... we're all just trying to avoid the heartache. you've probably seen the movie "my best friends wedding" remember what the 2 friends were talking about on the ferry let me try quoting it "if you're given the chance to say/do something, say/do it, or else the chance might pass you by" i know it wasn't exact, but you should get the message I see no changes, wake up in the morning I ask myself, "Is life worth living or should I blast myself" TUPAC SHAKUR |

Thanks for your guys' responses. Honestly, I've never ever been in the position like this poem places. I didn't have a boyfriend who left me and returned. Kinda strange huh? Just one night a bunch of words came to my mind, so i wrote them down and it all made sense. But for you guys who have been in this position, I feel for you even though I've never been through it. This is a wonderful poem! I do it all the time... write from an outside perspective. My latest post was about someone other than me, for example. It gives you a different perspective of the emotion.
