She gazes up into the stars Glued onto the black screen of darkness. Wishing she could be part of that dream Any dream, any dream Any dream But hers. She rides on angel's wings Through the deep blue sky at night What she would give to do it again What she would give to do it again... They carved her body from stone They made her heart from empty air No wonder she couldn't be part of that dream Any dream, any dream Any dream But hers. She sits quietly by the window sill Reaching out, she plucks a flower from the sky Wishing she could be like that Wishing she could be like that... She stares for hours at the mirror The reflection is only echoed light from the glass Perfect and divine, as if from a dream Any dream, any dream Any dream But hers. As her eyes cloud over with innocent mist She breathes her last breath before vanishing Into the star lit night To be part of that dream To be part of that dream. She was nothing but a shadow. ========== Shadows. Everyone has 'em. Still needs a bit more work in my opinion... |

Nicely done here Leah. I really liked this one. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
