“All Because Of You”

Your know that feeling you get
When you swing to high on a swing
And when feel as though you could touch the sky
You jump off to land face first in the dirt
Battered and bruised
As everyone else lands on their feet?

You know that feeling you get
When spend the day laying on the grass
Starring at the clouds
Wondering what wondrous thing
They will remind you of next
As you let the cool summer breeze
Flow over your body?

You know that feeling you get
When gaze up at the evening sky
Making a wish upon the first star you see
Then trying to count them all
As the crickets chirp in endless numbers
Creating a symphony among the twilight?

You know the feeling you get
When the wind is knocked out of you
And how it takes an eternity
Just to regain your breath?

Or perhaps you know the feeling you get
Just as you fall asleep
That serene peace and comfort
That maybe one day there will be a reason
To get up each morning?

Or maybe you know the feeling you get
After you have finished running
When your heart is pounding
No matter what you do
It just doesn’t want to calm down?

If you know these feelings
Then you may have an inkling of the way I felt
When I saw you tonight
For these are merely the tip of the iceberg
Of my ever thawing heart
Which reveals new feelings and emotions
To me with each passing day
And especially tonight
For when I saw you I realized yet again
That you are the only one who can make me feel
That this and every little thing I do
Is all because of you.

VERY VERY VERY VERY well done!!!! I loved this one from you! Simply amazing work. I adored it. The Imagery in the first stanza was, by far, my favorite.....I really liked it! You also concluded this poem perfectly. Awesome job.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.
