As I walk out the door,
I don't look back.
I'm afraid it will hurt too much.
I am leaving my home,
But I will always have the memories.

As I get into the car,
A single tear falls down my cheek,
But I don't wipe it away,
I let it fall,
And drive away.

I am begining a new life,
at a new house.
But it will never be my home.

thanks albert and cherish! cherish- yes im ok. i wrote this about a year ago when i was going to move, but we ended up not moving after all. i put it on here to show people how memories can shape who we are and how we live. we need to pay more attention to the things we take for granted, because they wont always be there. lucky for me, i get to appreciate my house a little bit longer. thanks for all of your support!

I really enjoyed this poem too. And I totally agree wtih you. WE should always cherich what we have, because very few good things last.

My tears roll right down my cheeks, but they all soak into my pillow. I feel kinda sorry for it...

I liked this one alot. I know how you felt. When I moved away from home almost a year ago, it was so hard. Sure it was fun, but the memories, not waking up in a familiar place,etc. get to you. Nice job on the poem.

aww this is such a sweet poem i liked it very much it kinda reminded me of someone going away to college or something. very nice

I really liked the ending to this one. Very sad, but hey it's life and these are things that happen. I can relate to this one COMPLETELY. I know how it is to leave your home and your loved ones...good luck with everything!
