Slowly, night approached. Street-lamps are ablaze. From up high I watch As the willow sways. Coiled smoke floats high From my cigarette, As I wonder why You and I have met. When I heard you speak, I was hypnotized And my knees got weak When I saw your eyes. Life was fine somehow Just before you came, But I know that now It won’t be the same. I can’t even think... All appears so blurred... Bonded by the ring, I can’t part with her... But, my heart is yours And with you it stays. Silence. Nothing stirs, Just the willow sways. |

I really love this piece... beautiful description of "hopeless love". Like Albert said, some great imagery and flow. Thanks for sharing. "Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel."-Machiavelli |

I often relate the Willow tree with lonliness and depression. Do you? I liked this poem. Thought the ending was superb. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
