She pastes the newspapers To the walls Perhaps, (She thinks) I can surround myself In the world, And the world will finally mean Something to me, and Not be just a place Father away than my backyard. The walls of her room Are black and white, And tattered and torn And peeling. The walls of her room Remind her that the world is bigger Than just her backyard. No, (She thinks) Who ever it is must be wrong And must have made up The terrible stories, And the leaders and stars and the Normal people just like me, Who all have their own world. In their own backyard. But her backyard is As big as the universe, And as long as the Leaders and stars and the Normal people just like her All stay in their own, She doesn’t need the world at all. The walls are just a reminder. *One meets his destiny often in the road he takes to avoid it. |

This piece really hit me like a ton and a half of bricks especially the last line. Another triumph for the Meggius Maximus fozzyozzy "The heart can think of no devotion |

very interesting piece..i ended up having contradictory thoughts...i related strongly to her desire in wanting to know the world, which is incidentally also bigger than my backyard |

Well done here. I liked this one a lot. Wonderful message! I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
