They can tell me it's not my fault,
but who knows if i'll believe them.
When tragedy strikes,
there's no way of knowing,
who is hurting, who is not,
who is to blame, who is not.

They can tell me I couldn't stop him,
but who knows if I'll believe them.
When tragedy strikes,
there's no way to see,
your way through the flames,
your way through the tears.

They can tell me I could'nt have known,
but who knows if I'll believe them.
When tragedy strikes,
there's no way to say what needs to be said,
no way to say "I'm sorry",
no way to say "good-bye".

They can tell me I'll forget her,
because I know I never will.
When tragedy strikes,
there's no way to avoid feelings,
no way to say "it's okay",
becuas it's never gonna be okay.

They can tell me it'll be okay,
but I'll only believe it when you say it.
When tragedy strikes,
there's no where to lay your head,
no shoulder for you to cry on,
no where for you to rest.

They can tell me not to cry,
but that won't stop my tears.
When tragedy strikes,
tears overflow in your eyes,
and there's no where for them to go,
except for down my face,
and onto your shoulder.
