I thought of you today--
Walking around the store
I heard your favorite song,
Went home and played it once more.

I thought of you today--
I saw your picture on the wall,
Saw the love in your face,
And went crying down the hall.

I thought of you today--
I read your favorite rhyme,
It reflected your personality so,
It seems as if it's gotten better with time.

I thought of you today--
I talked to papaw on the phone,
He cried over you,
He cried because you aren't home.

I thought of you today--
I saw a sky of the clearest blue,
You loved the blue sky...
And now, I do too.

I think of you now--
And tears come to my eyes,
I mourn the loss of my grandmother,
It's never easy when someone you love dies.
--------------------------------------------

It'll have been 3 years since my grandma died on October 9th....yet it feels like it was just yesterday....

I'm just glad that now this rainstorm has ended, and I can see the rainbow once again.

Touching.  I liked the blue sky stanza.  I know what you go through.  I lost my grandpa about 2 years ago and I still think about him.

Greater than being shore to ocean
Holding the curve of one position
Counting an endless repetition"

Well done here. I enjoyed this one. It's quite touching.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

It is never easy losing someone you love, you're right. I hope you can become a stronger person with the memory.

You've written quite a lovely poem here. It's something to be proud of.

Good poem, the emotions were very stong.  I now exactly how you feel...  My grandpa passed away about 2 years ago, and whenever I hear a certain song, I just have to listen to it again...  He also had a joke that went with that song, so I laugh whenever I hear the song.

Anyway, great post, I enjoy your stuff.  That one really hit me...  Good job.

You are getting quite good at this, if I might say so myself.  Great way of conveying your feelings.

That third stanza could have been a little more compacted, tho.  The last line of it seems to throw off the rhythm a little.

But other than that, this was a very good piece.

"If history is to change, let it change. If the world is to be destroyed, so be it. If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh"
