Now I Know

Why they call it falling
Falling in love
Now I know
It's a mere contradictory phrase
All in itself
One for falling
It hurts when you fall
Two for love
It's a great feeling
Put the two together
What's it supposed to mean
Feels great for a while
Then hurts like hell.

Surely love is
To be such a strange word
With many different feelings
How does one change
From your feet off the ground
To crying in pain
Day to day
Each a different stage
It's so wonderful at first
Then cuts you like a knife
So why they call it falling
Now I know.

When it comes to poems like this I'm very predictable with my response...ok and I'll explain this as quick as possible.

Love= good...pure good at that. Love is the epitome of everything great....it's never bad. It's an abstract feeling that is nothing but good.

Now....what PAINS you the fact that when you are in love you sometimes feel a lack of it from your partner....if you fight...you feel unloved or you're lacking the love at that specific moment. Thus what hurts and pains you is not LOVE, it's the fact that you do not feel love at that moment.

When You love somebody and they do not love you back, that's unrequited love. What hurts is not that you love HIM, but that he does Not love YOU....thus not attaining love is what hurts.

So it's elementary....what pains and hurts people in this world is the lack of love or unrequited love.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily
