Butterflies with tatterd wings
dropping seeds from which evil springs
Rainbows broken decorate the ground
Broken promises abound

Leaves always turning
on trees always burning
a crimson red
like the glistening blood of the dead

The only light
from a fight
from a battle long since passed
Haunting screams echo from the past

The begging the pleading
to their deaths the leaders were leading
The victims of fear, alcohol and drugs
their flesh now being used as rugs

The skulls of rapists and killers
now mounted atop pillers
The tortured sang their song
about a night so long

No they too are gone
The carnage here rivals armageddon
Tatterd wings of butterflies
are the only stars in blood red skys

I enjoyed this...very dark poetry here. Wow.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

I'm in love with my shadow
I admire it daily

Outstanding!  Very, very wonderful imagery.  I love the butterfly thing, I thought that was genius!
Hauntingly dark, like everyone said.  It made me cringe.  Go figure.
