Distance By: Kim Longing to see your face Longing to hear your voice Longing to see your smile But I sit back with no choice No choice whether or not I want to be a part of you No choice whether or not I want to love you The miles between us Keep me confined To the small-minded life I lead This distance keeps me blind Everything turns right When I speak to you Words flow out my fingertips Thoughts I never knew Things I never thought of Things I wouldn’t have to face And all because my lonely self Is stuck in this empty place This place leads me to depression And a forlorn empty heart And all because the many miles That keep you and me apart |

Very well done here. I enjoyed this one. Hope the distance shortens. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
