I hate ex's *LMAO* These poems I have been posting, for those of you who care, are getting decreasingly meaningful as my feelings for ____ continue to slide away... I'm doing 99.9% wonderful now *L* My platonic prom date might not end up being so platonic after all *L* Who knows?

Always and fornever
True love is not true
It’s after your heart
Don’t let it get to you

Run, run away
As fast as you can
For love only weakens
The power of man

Lock up your heart
Throw away the key
That’s the only way
To assure your safety

Love: source of pain
Heartbreak and sadness
Caught in the trap
Loneliness, madness

Always and fornever
Although I don’t love
You’ll be the one
My heart dreams of

"A dream is a wish your heart makes while you are fast asleep."

I am so right where you are right now with the whole platonic prom date.  Like you, I so hope there is something beneath the surface.  Prom is so much better when you share it with someone closer than a "chum".

I totally dig the message.  I love the repetition of "always and forever" definitely one of the most meaningful(to me at least) poems I have ever read here.  Good job.

"The heart can think of no devotion
Greater than being shore to ocean
Holding the curve of one position
Counting an endless repetition"

This read through very basically, I liked it.  The rhyme scheme was simple and the stanzas kept small.
Well done.

I thought the flow wasa excellent and the rhyme scheme was good.  because you kept everything short and compact it really helped the rhythm and helped get across what you were saying clearly.  great job on this, i hope you have fun at the prom.

I like this a lot.  The flow is excellent and the rhyme scheme very basic.. The poem had a simple but powerful feel.  Nice job!
Good luck at prom   Have fun.

Sara, it's the abscence of love that causes pain, and not love itself. I'm shocked that Dopey never said anything about this.  He usually does.  Besides that, I did love the poem.  It was direct and easy to read.  Thanks for the share

I think this is the first poem I read from you and I really enjoyed it. It was very interesting, especially the ending. I know how you feel and i hope the best for you.

Give her two red roses, each with a note. The first note says "For the woman I love" and the second, "For my best friend."

FUnny how acire catches onto my idiosyncracies so quickly. Yes yes....tis the absence of love that causes  pain, not love itself.

By the way everyone, the platonic prom date is DEFINATELY still 100% platonic... personally the guy can kiss my butt *LOL* A better door has opened for me... *slams the door in Bobby's face, and walks through the newly opened one*
