What exactly is it that makes you hate me?
Is it that I'm me?
that I'm female?
or that I'm the REAL me and am in control of myself?

Is it that I'm not afraid,
not afraid to live life?
that I don't give a care of what others think?
for others are incompetent idiots who know nothing
or is it that I'm the real me?
Tell me, just what is it?

What is it? I ask
Is it that my kind of feelings you've never known before?
that I'm wiling to give anything for you?
or is it that you're still naive and innocent?
Tell me, just what is it?

What is it? I ask
Is it that you don't know what life is worth?
that it's worth more than material objects?
material objects are incomparable to the joy and satisfaction of human love
or is it that you CHOOSE not to open yourself to your human instinct?
Tell me, what is it?

What is it? I ask
Is it that you're in denial,
in denial of everything around you?
that everyone will think less of you because you don't hate me?
or is it that you feel no one can and will never understand you?
Tell me, just what is it?

Maybe I'm wrong in all that I've written, but
Do you, in fact, hate me because I'm me?
If that's the case, then my thoughts on you are misconstrued
I never once assumed you to be the hag I'd always heard about but never met
If you do, in fact, hate me because I'm me,
then you are the one in need of judgment
For there was a time, a time not so long ago
