lost in the amber depths of your eyes i failed to see your hidden lies i naively thought that it was only you and me but there are other girls that you also see i believed the silken words you so easily strung until you made one to many slips of the tongue i see now how foolish i was and from now on i shall always pause before i fall so deeply under so as to never have my heart torn asunder i lost the game that you made me a part but for now on i shall guard my heart "The sun in your eyes made some of the lies worth believing." |

i too have been in your shoes. i just recently got dumped by the same person you describe in this poem, only this guy just wanted some booty (well that's what i think anyway) but guard your heart but don't keep it under lock and key forever. Well done! Very well done!!!! Guard it loosely though....you don't want to ward off possible good to the heart when it actually does come.  I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |
