You told me you'd always be here Friends forever is what you said We were supposed to be together forever You got a bad disease You were to be here always Friends forever you'd say Together forever You got really sick Stayed in the hospital for a while You were to be here always We promised to always be together You broke that promise when you left to be with the Heavenly father I couldn't believe you left Friends forever you'd say Supposed to be together forever How could you leave me here alone I can't believe you're gone Friends forever you promised You weren't to be the first to go Lying on your death bed Singing church songs We were supposed to go together To be in a good place Friends forever You promised Together forever Dedicated to my grandmother and her sister. My aunt died of cancer. They were supposed to die on the same day, but God wanted her then. Rest In Peace, love, Michelle "True friends stab you in the front." |

I like the variations in stanza size towards the end, the last one especially. It was a good way to bring the whole poem to an ending point. Good job on this. ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

My condolences...... great tribute to the both of them. I liked the poem. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

Such a sad piece... I couldn't imagine losing anyone extremely close to me. This is a wonderful tribute to your aunt and grandmother. Thanks for sharing. "Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel."-Machiavelli |
