"This Is Me" The one thing you least expected Just hit you right in the face I didn’t mean to upset you so But I am not sorry in this case Your blowing this out of proportion You really don’t understand Yes I kissed a women But I’ve also kissed a man I am considered bisexual if you feel the need to label me that is not all of who I am Or who I want to be I am an adult but yet I’m a child I am an artist thus things tend to get wild I am a wise professor but still very much a student I am a queen but yet a servant I am a teenager just without my father I am a women and still your daughter so if you choose to label me just know that there is more I am not only bisexual there are other things you could adore so this is me this is who I am if you choose to judge me I don’t give a damn By: Dana Samples 4-23-01 [This message has been edited by Dana Samples (edited 04-24-2001).] |

Dana, what an excellent poem... I really could relate to this, you know. That's all I'm going to say. Really good job. Oh and I'm sure you could get away with "damn," I've seen it go untouched before. But ironically the asterixes will attract negative attention so I suggest you just edit it to read "damn." I want this poem to stay, because I really do like it. Well done. ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

I'm bisexual too.........no, not really...just wanted to see people's reactions.....anyway if i WAS bisexual i would think exactly like you. I have SO MANY bisexual, gay, and lesbian friends (even gay men who like me) and i am completely comfortable with it all. I really hope your mother can accept you for WHO you are.... Great poem, very enjoyable. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

This is such an awesome post, Dana. It deserves to be back on the first page for everyone to see. Wow.. this blew me away. You portrayed so much here.. to me, this is saying that you just want to be seen as you, and not who you're supposed to be. I understand what you're saying. This hit me hard. I really appreciate you posting this. VERY nice work. I enjoyed this quite a lot. You're a talented writer! I hope to see more. Nice work! --Marie subconsciously, i think i can eat so much to make my stomach hurt, instead of my heart. |

I think in this situation...the "damn" works well in the poem.....I thought your poem was excellent....I love my kids....their sexuality, ( once they figure it out) won't change that.... SEA [This message has been edited by SEA (edited 04-27-2001).] |

I don't think that someone's sexual preferance should matter to the people that care most about you. If they really care, they will accept you for what you are, and I truly hope that you are accepted. This is a good poem though. ~*Nikki*~ ~*Of all the millions of people in the world, I'm just me.*~ |

Hey Dana girl. This was some good stuff, real good..I hope everything with your mom turns out okay soon. And if anyone at school gives you crap about anything, I'll help get the gang together to beat the heck outta em. HA! Ok sorry I'm feeling some agression today..haha well keep thinking freely, as you do, and git a smile on dat face. Luv n' hugs! ~Carly "Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the self-same well from which your laughter rises was often-times filled with your tears." ~Kahil Gibran |

It is awful if your mother has a problem w/ your sexuality. I myself cannot really say I know how you feel, b/c I dont, but I do know that you shouldnt have to hide this from anyone, especially your parents. I really hope that she isnt judging you by this. Great poem! *~*Amanda*~* |

This is so incredibly good! Everything you say is so true... there is much more to a person than sexuality and whatnot... a lot more things make you who you are than whom you choose to date... Very VERY well done "A dream is a wish your heart makes while you are fast asleep." |
