The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Four corners of the world it stretches, The British empire ran by wretches, A navy proud of it’s tradition, But fearful of any new addition, Armada’s defeated, Hero’s lost, An empire expands and counts the cost, We ruled the world from our island nation, But we helped destroy our own creation, A new phase in world development, So peoples needs are represent, A new democracy, but the balance is gone, The power has shifted to another one, America now it leads from the fore, Remember the colonies we ours before, A new imperialism in a new age, The end of an empire, doesn’t require a page. It made me think, would I give my life for Queen and country, I needn't have wasted the energy... Nothing would make me prouder to serve for my Queen and country... Anyway.... Andrew. This was AWESOME! I loved this one. This was amazing. I really loved the flow. The flow of it all completely made this poem work perfectly in my eyes. Very nice subject matter too. I haven't seen a poem like this for a long time now. Very very very well written. My fav from you! ![]() I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself.
