I wrote this for the beggining of a biology paper/project. A small body sleeps in a large crib hawthorne yellow walls with a white trim mahogany stained hardwood floors wide windows let in the afternoon sun honey-suckle scent fills the room a magical aura shimmers through the air tiny fingers curled near her cheeks a fluff of dark brown crowns her soft head rosy-pout mouth relaxed in a smile a mobile hanging from the ceiling swings with different charms and chimes the moniter set on the table near the crib a young mother enters this dreamland to check on her baby, leaning over the crib her child is so still, she strokes her cheek but feels no breath as she goes white her mouth lets out a shrill cry her husband bounds up the stairs he finds two bodies crumpled on the floor his wife weeping, child in her arms she says, "no...no..." over and over again his baby is gone, so is his heart. Over 7,000 babies die of SIDS every year in the United states alone. Sudden Infant Death Syndrom(SIDS)leading cause of the death of babies around 9 months old. There is no certain way to prevent SIDS. Death occurs within seconds, usually during sleep. The baby doesnt suffer. I ask you all....take a minuit every once and a while to remember all the little angels who have passed on. Regina a small cut is only the beggining of a life in pain |

Very beautiful tribute, Regina. I liked this one a lot. Keep posting. --Marie It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives. |

This is such a sad piece! The terror and horror of SIDS is captured so well in this piece. It's a beautiful dedication. Thanks for reminding us of these children. "Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel."-Machiavelli |

Wow, I didn't expect to actually learn something in this thread. Very nice though. I appreciated it and I'm sure many others will to. Very nice. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

Yes, quite excellent. What a marvelous thing you have done here, Regina! This seriously deserves to be in the newsletter or something... I'm sure there's a place somewhere that this should be published. Beautiful. You've nearly brought the almighty Allan Riverwood to tears. ~Allan The sun was born, so it shall die. ~VNV Nation, "Further" |

*trying to collect himself* wow, an incredibly sad and incredibly beautiful poem. The images came to life before my eyes, truly beautiful work. Sometimes, the things that go unsaid are the only things worth hearing. |
