Allen's challenge: I got to thinking, and I've written short stories and poems since probably I was in 3rd grade... however I can't remember all of them... Here, I dug one up from when I was 15 or 16.... I'm waltzing in a tattered dress, I'm sore from limb to limb, I'm waltzing in a tattered dress, Soon, something's gotta give. The evening air is chilling, The moon so large and round, It's smile is so brightly seen, Mine is lost and longing to be found. I'm waltzing in a tattered dress, But no one seems to care. My partner might just love me, I may just have a chance, But what a risk to take, And I could never dare. So I keep this hope alive, ignited in my soul, One day I may just take that risk, and face a world I've never known. My first published poem, actually. What do you think? |

Hey, nicely done! I enjoy this, but I was really going for something from a younger age... Still, thanks for sharing this piece! Eternal life without the darkness isn't life at all- it is a lobotomy. |

Nice one here jenn! I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. I'm in love with my shadow I admire it daily |

I really like this poem, you did a very good job on it. And Allan, what would the "order" be if someone didn't come in a change it every once in a while??? Pretty orderly, I'd say, and that's no fun "Disagreements stimulate thought, thought stimulates action, and action stimulates life." --Lakewalker http://www.thehungersite.com |
