Today I learned that poetry is more than words, and peace isn't impossible; no where near hopeless. Today I learned that laughter dissolves shame and fear, and all artists have a little speck of Crazy in their blood. Today I learned that real friendships aren't meant to make you curse yourself, and safety pins are for holding things together, not tearing them apart. Today I learned that forgiveness is beautiful, and to be forgiven is to taste the chocolate in Heaven. Today I learned that raindrops are candy, and senior citizens dance better than most teenagers. Today I learned that children are easier to love than to hate, and baby-sitting shouldn't include the word "payment". Today I learned that sprinklers are magical, and subdivisions aren't always the killer of fantasy forests. Today I learned that the crimson of sunset loves to kiss the blue of night, and no matter how loud the world gets, there's always closets. Today I learned that never may mean tomorrow, and tomorrow may be your last shot at forever. "The eye sees a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination awake." - Leonardo da Vinci [This message has been edited by Child of the Stars (edited 03-12-2001).] |

Hey Carly, I already told you this was pretty cool! For some reason thought, poems have less effect on me over icq than on the mesage board :-( oh well, either way, ttyl!! "Some men see things as they are and say why. I dream things that never were and say why not." ~RFK |

As I told you earlier, Carly, this piece is wonderful. It is completely different from what I am used to seeing you do but it is very well done. one of the few poems I wouldn't taint with a format. Great job, love. ~Allan If I had your eyes, I'd be blind. For I can only see out of my own. ~~Carly Van Dort |

Oh I love, I LOVE, I LOVE!! This is going directly to the library, Carly. Haha..I also love your Constructive Critiques Message. Very funny. This is incorrect though : "Today I learned that children are easier to love than to hate, and baby-sitting shouldn't include the word "payment"." Kids suck and therefore ALWAYS require payment. Keep it up, Carly. ~AF~ "It is not necessary to change. Survival is not mandatory." |

AWESOME! I almost missed this one. I'm glad I didn't. This was such a great poem. The last two lines are the best, although it is hard to say something stands out more than the rest in this one.Right into the library. Jon "Your anger is a gift"-Rage Against The Machine |
