Viva la Cockroach . The cockroaches are gunna’ get ya’, When you’re buried and dead, The cockroaches will be the ones, Who get inside your head . There the ultimate form of life you know, Far more advanced than you or I, They’ve chosen not to have a life, Just simply live then die . What’s the point of making meaning, Or social language skills, When in the life of one and all, The cockroaches will all kill . They decide not to decide, They evolve, mutate, survive, There population multiplies, As all others take a dive . In the end they’ll win, If we evolve to be alike, We’d have given up our species life, We’d have gotten on the unconscious bike . So my suggestion has to be, The cockroaches we must approach, I will kneel down at there feet, And yell VIVE LA COCKROACH !!! Written by the high commissar commander of the cockroach order . Funny! I have a cockroach poem buried somewhere among my ancient writings. They are creatures I would never miss, it they were to become extinct. I say KILL the Cochroach before he invades! |

As a native of new orleans? Yanno I gotta love this!!! until I was ten years old? I thought that the flying palmetto variety was our state bird....lol...thanks for the giggle. |

Funny, funny, funny!!! During the pastor's sermon, of which I wrote my poem you read earlier today, he told of a man that set off 23 or 25 bug bombs in his house to get rid of the cockroaches. The fumes reached the pilot light and the explosion all but destroyed his home. And...when going through the rubble, the cockroaches were still standing and crawling. They do go on, they do survive...just too much truth in your poem. |

Knocking-on-wood, so far we are lucky NOT to be sharing a house, down here, with the "little dears". Every time I get back to the summer home, I wonder if I brought company. So far, I have been lucky. Hope to stay that way. This was a fun poem. Hugs, ME |

Thankyou very much all, I never expected this many replies, I haven't been able to come on much recently, but I'm hoping to start again soon . I wrote this poem as a bit of a laugh although when I came up with the idea, me and all my friends took it on as a theme, and now whenever anyone is feeling down, 'Viva la Cockroach !' Always gets them smiling . The cockroaches are all but indestructable, and even if you were to kill them all your life, the population is so large and adaptable that they will survive as a species and flurish on the remains of your body . Useless information here ( may not be accurate, but I have been informed ) : There are 48,000,000,000 ( thats 48 billion in English numetrics ) cockroaches on planet earth . The cockroach is the only species that has been known to survive within a 150 meter radius of a neucleur blast ( most bacteria would be destriyed within this range ) . The cockroach has no heart, it uses it's single lung to pump blood round it's body . The cockroach can digest almost any organic material . There are over 136 different sub-species of cockroach . The largest cockroach on record is just under a foot in length . Makes ya' wonder heh . L.of.L. Tommy .
