The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-01-20 01:46 PM

Yesterday you smiled at me
and the sunlight glistened
on the greenest grass, and the dew kissed rose.
The stars sparkled
from within a silky night
as the lush full moon appeared
over a flawless horizon.

Yesterday you held me
within your warmest embrace,
sheltering me from the harsh reality
of a loveless life.
The painful void within my heart
was filled to overflowing
and I was happy.

Yesterday you called me to your side
and I came
across miles and obstacles
near insurmountable.
Over years of absence forgotten
I traveled
in a haze of undeniable love.

And today you took it back
all of it.
And left me
with nothing
but a knife
inserted directly through
my now hollow heart.

Very very sad. Great expression of a deeply felt pain.

Catalina,
So sad, so beautiful. Hold on to the yesterdays, but don't lose hope of the tomorrows...
