Catacombs Krysalis I've been here before. Silently walking through these corridors, A labyrinth that takes many twists and turns, Doors open, then close, Revealing only glimpses of inside rooms, That have often been left unattended, Places where memories linger, Where hidden thoughts scurry, Cowering in corners mingled with dust. Somewhere deeper within the catacombs, A light shines brightly with beckoning rays, With each tentative step I take it grows more intense, Enlightening and casting shadows, Bringing into focus the nagging demons of reason, Answering the moot questions of "Why?" And I come to know a truth, That each winding pathway, Only leads to my own heart and soul. Yes, I have been here before, In this place that hovers between light and dark, Where below, hell's fury sends pyres to singe my soles, While above heavens fires flare to purge my spirit? Inside of my own head, this place called "Mind", This purgatory of divine grace, Where light can not be known without darkness, Pleasure can not be known without pain. In this realm of human existence. Post Your Poetry at Beyond The Bridge Also! |
