being there with you
in front of the fireplace
would simply be bliss

and you know how
I feel about bliss
and about you

and if you're
not sure
watch the flame

for the flame
not only reflects
the depth of my desire
but also
the power of my passion

bring your hands closer
warm yourself

Soft and tender . I could hear it in a whispered form.
Very romantic lovely as your poems always seem to be.

...utterly romantic piece...the use of the flame to describe your passion and the power of love was great...the last stanza was a killer...

"bring your hands closer
warm yourself"

...tender and intimate!

Sven,

The image of hands held out to a fire fascinates. Your poem is warm and quiet.

Sven, is there anything as romantic as a warm fireplace and two consenting adults? I think not, especially where love is involved. This one moved me. Thanks! Kate
