~*~ The World Is One Big Salad Bowl ~*~In the beginning, the Creator, Knew exactly what he was doing. He created children of all colors, He had his plan in place from the very start. The world would be a great big place, And in that world, all color would be a part. He gave each child a loving and tender heart, A spirit so pure that they would find, In their evolving innocence, love and acceptance, For in an innocent child’s eyes, There is no discrimination of any kind. He figured life was like a salad bowl, If all lettuce, it would just be only green, So he created children of all colors, In his salad bowl, he wanted some variety to be seen. I imagine he is crying tears in heaven, As he looks down on this world tonight, Seeing sisters and brothers fighting, Because of their color, black or white! What went wrong with his perfect scheme, Because a heart is still a heart, And a dream is still a dream! We are all made the same from the start. How sweet the innocence of a tiny babe, How accepting, and trouble free. They care not the color of your skin, Where you come from, or how you pray. They just see into your eyes and soul, And live in peace for one more day. I only wish we could stay children, What a better place this world would be. Somehow we have to change this mentality; And it has to begin with you and me! ~*~ We ARE Family ~*~ ~*~A poet is someone who reads more than they write ~*~ [This message has been edited by Mysteria (edited 03-21-2001).] |

So true! Good message! I think the dressing should be the individuality of all human beings....well written! |

Ethome ~*~ You are so right, I think the dressing is the individual's "uniqueness"! Joyce ~*~ I truly do appreciate your constant endurance of my rather "epic" story poems, thank you so much. |
