The Gift of Not Giving Too Much I wish I could take away the pain That has driven you so down I wish I could take your life, Turn it around and give it to you. You have been and always will Be special and dear to me Please take my hand and know That I will always be here for you We don't know what to expect Or what will become of all this That makes us see darkness And miss the radiant rainbows. I promise to be here to listen And allow you to heal yourself The temptation is to attempt rescue But that will help neither you nor me. Let's embark on an adventure A new path of discovery to explore We will search for the answers To" Who am I?" for you and me. "You can't reason with your heart; it has it's own laws and thumps about things which the intellect scorns." |

This was so beautiful and true! "The temptation is to attempt rescue" that line is so me : ), but you are so right when you say "But that will help neither you nor me." |

This was difficult to pen but not near as difficult to not give too much. "You can't reason with your heart; it has it's own laws and thumps about things which the intellect scorns." |

startin_fresh, this was such a beautiful poem and its truth shone through. I too could relate to the line that said "the temptation is to rescue.". Well written Kethry Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Patty Hansen. |
