I awoke to yesterday,
...as had the day before,
In search of my tomorrows,
...but tomorrows are no more,
Adrift upon a tideless sea,
...no captain at the helm,
Lost in eddys of the mind,
...in depths of overwhelm,
Atop mainsail in crow's nest,
...a telescope in hand,
I scan for far horizon,
...seeking out new land,
Instead I see an island,
...the land from whence I came,
Climbing down to wooden deck,
...I stand upon ship's bow,
I gaze upon my yesterdays,
...I gaze on my anow.

Fabulous piece of writing, Mike. Sad yet beautifully expressed.

An interesting look at the convergence of and relationship between past and present, and at our role of perceptive participant. Nicely done.

Very good. I really liked the nautical flavor of the poem.
