Melissa, here is the poem ~ thanks for asking after it. ~ Claire

Sands of Evermore

So many stand along this sea
awash in waves of reverie,
our hands agrasp in kindred hold
with nightly cries to Heaven's fold.

For inspiration's kiss, divine,
to move the pen another time
enticing verse's vines to grow,
encircling poet's ink to flow.

With words of wise and golden grace
and spray of life upon our face,
we write in night to ocean's roll
of love and loss and torrents' toll.

Of laughter, glee, and grief recalled,
of moments passed and sorrows stalled,
we share and soak in evening's tide.
No need to feign nor tears to hide.

So send your voice into the sky
in midnight sea of lullaby
and join with souls upon the shore,
poetic sands of evermore.

Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau

my thanks to Melis for requesting this jewel as well ...
its lovely in its imagery, cadence, and poectic conclusions.
Wonderful write Claire.

We wish ourselves beautiful,
we cry in the night.
Its not the love you fear ...
its the fall from the height.
