If today were my last I would make peace with trees Leaves, roots and branches Fruits and all who know her I've forgotten how How she held me in her bow Brushed hair from my eyes With gentle leaves Protected from rain Autumn kisses Indian Summer Carved three hearts One when we skinned our knees Another when we were in blossom Another when we were in love Come, I must see How they remain Trace again our hearts With fingers and eyes Maybe then she'll forgive me For scarring her so With our careless love Only to let you go So, that's why I'm here To make peace with trees What brings you here my love? What brings you so near? |

JBK...This is wonderful...I love trees...and don't feel too bad about carving your name..that is part of what they do, they are keepers of love. |

This is amazing! I read it not knowing what to expect...from the name. Ok, trees, it was about trees. But it is about so much more...and what a noble thing to do, if it were your last day. You have honered nature as such a real part of your love. |

Trace again our hearts With fingers and eyes Maybe then she'll forgive me For scarring her so With our careless love Only to let you go ======================= very cool write JBK... wonderful use of imagery and metaphor and the poetic blending of nature and the emotions was well done... "For scarring her so With our careless love Only to let you go" such a cool bittersweet emotive line... well done poet sir jm We wish ourselves beautiful, we cry in the night. Its not the love you fear ... its the fall from the height. ~Edwin McCain~ |

Metaphorically speaking you know you touched the core of my contention with half the huge corporations in this world!...I have made peace with trees and wish more were aware of the abuse of nature, as we are depleting our own source of beauty. This was fastastic, carry on McDuff! |

this is a very nice piece vivid and a sense of melancholy lingers through it as though woven in the tapestry of the moment |
