Do I stand and cast my line
Or am I only waiting to die
If efforts made are just in jest
And little time do I invest
To live a life that’s not in vain
How long can I still remain?
Life does not live in this place
Where words describe our empty space
My world lies far beyond these walls
Where once I live and now have stalled
So now I stand and cast my line
No longer sit here waiting to die

There is life beyond this...when you are willing to try...but sometimes taking that step is the hardest thing in the world to do...dont forget to let your friends help...hugs and like Serenity I miss you too

I am new here but I was so impressed with your poetry I had to leave a note to you saying...cast your line, you are going to be surprised what you reel in, and good luck to you.

Love the positive aspect of the conclsion of your thoughts here....throw in the line and learn to live with what you're dealt, dying will come soon enough as it is....good writing!!

Rich- I too can relate. I've long since believed that writing is a great tool to healing. I liked this poem.   Kate
