Looking for the Wild Rose Who knows where the wild rose grows In rocky crag, or on mountainous slag Beside the brook, oh where should I look? For where would the wild rose grow? The gypsy she has said to me “Find where the wild rose grows ~ Follow you see yon honeybee Now search for the wild red rose” So honeybee and I searched the valley Beyond fields so green we waded the stream To follow our dream, honeybee and I All for a wild rose dream We’ve looked so far and wide, you see To find where the wild rose grows But elusive it is, it resides, who knows? Where does the wild rose grow? The gypsy said I would find my love That he and I would never part Wherever in secret the wild rose grows Perhaps it blooms in my heart? Should you see where the wild rose grows Will you send me a sign? For I would love the Love that stands Wherever, for the wild rose is mine |

I truely enjoyed the journey you take the reader in search of the Wild Rose. This could have become a sad saga for the rose which is so illusive...yet you kept it very upbeat, youthful, energetic and hopeful. Wonderful, wonderful read! Jellybean King |

Karilea--I know where the wild rose grows in the place where a poet goes up the gate in a heart that knows to Sunshine's words that flow flow |

This is very beautiful, it reminded me how the bees do a little dance to tell the other bees where to get the nectar. I loved it! A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |

JBK....so often I try to write a sad piece and usually end up with a happy ending...I need to stretch more, but very glad you enjoyed! Thank you... Martie...thank you! You always have the right things to say! Mysteria...come walk my plains with me....we would have way too much fun in the search!.... Walker, I had not thought about that, but you are so very correct! Thank you! |

You're not exactly making us want to help your quest... not when we're enjoying the journey so much. *S* This is beautiful, Sunshine! |

I think the seeds for the wild rose start in your mind and your heart cultivates them and you transfer the wild roses through your soul and plant them on the pages of your perspective......That is what creates wonderful compositions of love, life and laughter and sometimes pain that you write to share....the wild rose of creativity blowing free and open to the wonders of the experiences of life........that's my story and I'm sticking to it! I think this is delightful!! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

It is a curious fact that a hybrid Tea I planted on the south side of the house I lived in in Mich - bloomed wild after a harsh winter - In some strange way I think there is a message there I loved your honeybee, gypsy line just the same - |

Dear Sunshine: I have wild roses that bloom around my yard every June and now I will think of your wonderful poem when I see them. Betty Lou Hebert [This message has been edited by Trillium (edited 03-19-2001).] |
