Listening to every heart

Gifts

~*~

He took a word
gave it a spin
then left it alone
to dwell within
it ran and cavorted
found then her heart
now his words
will not depart

~*~

He said
“I am but a refugee
so you must never
trust in me
for I am a tired
soul of one
and cast my shadows
from shine of sun.”

~*~

She watched and saw
the pain of him
reached out her hand
‘twas not a whim
said “you shall come
along with me,
and settle in peace
most easily.”

~*~

For she was but
a song of light
and saw him through
his dark of night
wresting dragons
away from hell
left him sitting
in quiet spell

~*~

In time, in time
he found his mind
and then he
found his heart
for in her song
for him alone
she gave him courage
from which to start

~*~

He took a word
gave it a spin
then left it alone
to dwell within
it ran and cavorted
found then her heart
now his words
will not depart

~*~

oh yes....ME LIKES THIS ..
and this likes me...
and this does indeed define the gift of poetry.
thank you for the keeper

Sprayed across my heart and hers
Danced butterflies in the wild
This angel, this woman ,
who loves me with the innocence of a child.

Karilea, you just keep amazing me with your talent! This is a perfect poem in every way, the depth, the rhyme, the flow, the feeling it gives the reader, and how all poets will relate! Wonderful work~

Take care,
Melissa~

Wonderful gifts of encouragement and love...wonderful lady...do you think I could find someone like that to help me if I ever happen to be.....
"wresting dragons
away from hell"
because that would be a super problem and hard to overcome...the heat, the depth, the jailer with the red suit, the smoke and then throw a dragon in on top of all that, well now, that's the woman for me.....

Great stuff Karilea!

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.
