*the way of the gun* the mirror has another face there's a stranger in the way in the air, there's a stench of sinful wrong. we are in over our heads so many 'round us lying dead and the journey's just begun. there screams a frightened pregnant girl; handguns against the world; our luck didn't change; our luck just ran out. i hear footsteps in the hall, got our backs against the wall, we're livin life by the Way of the Gun livin by the Way of the Gun we're livin life by the Way of the Gun we live by the gun and there's tension in the air. are we in control or runnin scared? i can't close my eyes without letting a prayer slip. we don't need your Redemption. asked for Money, not for Heaven. the kamikaze trip... now the hammer's comin down our villians all around i see the world through shards of broken glass... underneath the desert sun, my shotgun rages on we're livin life by the Way of the Gun livin by the Way of the Gun we're livin life by the Way of the Gun we live by the gun one life for a trigger squeezed... tell me what you believe. what will you tell God when it's all been said and done? list our sins; we have no shame. tell God that we were framed. if we die, we die alone. Whatever happened to my life? Whatever happened to a wife, kids and happy end? no more bullets left to spend, no tears will e'er be shed, we live by the gun we live by the Gun we're livin life by the Way of the Gun the Way of the Gun< !signature--> You don't hear much about guys who take their shot and miss... First off.........NICE TO SEE YOU BACK!!!!!! Now on with the poem. Simply superb my friend in bringing a message to us that needs to be heard and heeded to. You have done well in doing so and now we can only hope for just one gun to be put down. |
