Song to ELizabeth Here, there doth passed a great romanticist Seen by the very words that he once kissed When speaking in rhyme of candles bright That lit the darkest of his night… And maiden she would hear his song To his side she swift ~ belonged And whispered low in shadowed light How his candelabra’s song was ever bright. He took her by her maiden’s hand To his ballroom now lit grand With golden stems holding forth great light They danced her dance all through his night. Phantoms of time looked down upon them As he held her close in dancing spin And when she chanced to look up at him She found he’d become her dream ~ a whim. For ‘twas a dream, this song which he wrote By his very words to her heart did emote The song of dreams that could come true that is how a poet works, with words then just for you. 22 November, 1999 ©KRJ |

A lilting dance of a poem with great gentility, full of great images, I liked. Thank you, Regards, Olias |

You my dear poet friend are so good at writing in this style....and Elizabeth should be so pleased.......with the perspective...... "For ‘twas a dream, this song which he wrote By his very words to her heart did emote The song of dreams that could come true that is how a poet works, with words then just for you." The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Phantoms dance through misty night In glow of canalabra’s light The song that played in ballroom halls Still echo off the vacant walls And love was born of dreamers kiss In candle’s shadows such as this A dream’s a dream and real is real It’s how the poet writes the feel So great must be that poet’s rhyme Remembered after all this time To me the canalabra poem Will live quite well when I’m long gone This tribute to both poet and man A jewel written by his hand This is so very lovely, Sunshine Liz |

Oh My! This was so lovely, and my favorite type of poetry, (not to mention the comment from Liz Santos), would almost be fun to keep this going you know that! Absolutely beautiful, oh but I loved it! |
