The Green of Irish Faith Virginia Salter Come and be my little leprechaun greet the morning dew of dawn gathered there upon the lawn of a brand new day. Wearin’ green, so succulent, ignoring drought and those well bent on bringing fear and love’s relent to carve our deepened fey. Causing us to seek the clover searching diligent world over, then failing, quickly run for cover where consternation does not pay. Dreaming of a pot of gold wishing dreams that we were told could be a thing we could behold by magic words we say. Working diligence we've spent sacrificial pay in Lent denying what the world has rent to carry us away. © March 16, 2001 |
