Quill Spill
~*Marge Tindal*~

Precious ink-of-think is drawn
within the slender shaft of quill
Treasured thoughts soon are etched
upon the parchment at ghostly will

Silent cryptography of heart
upon the page is traced
Calligraphic lettering
embellishes soft the spill of grace

Low, low, low burns the taper
that lit inspiration of the night
I gaze and wonder who has writ
on blush of early morning light

Lovely, lovely. But if we were writing with quill, we would perhaps take more thought with each word we use. Joyce

Marge: 8~)

Now I could say a lot about this poem, like:

It was perfect!
It was clever!
The quirk of your quill is showing (oh my!)
But instead ...
I will limit my kudos and just send some

Marge I can visualize the ancient writer writing by oil lamp or candlelight with the ink well and the quill in a ghostly atmosphere. The same writers as we have here today with the same burning desire to express thier innermost thoughts....wonderful scene Marge........

"Precious ink-of-think is drawn
within the slender shaft of quill
Treasured thoughts soon are etched
upon the parchment at ghostly will"

The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges.

You've painted a much lovelier picture of writing than what I live... for my quill spill comes from brain drain and the kitties are happy with multiple mistakes even if I'm not... for then they have more balls of paper to chase. *G* I love this, Marge!! *S*

Oh, I so agree with what Sunshine says, and I love, delight in what suthern has said. Okay, I love cats and it is such a delightful thought, them chasing her 'failures' away.

Wonder if I should go back to the pen and paper more, generally these days I use them only once a week for my poetry. The times I write in church during the sermon...no computer in my lap then.

This poem has certainly activated thinking about writing and spilling words upon the page
with so much finger punching, word crunching.

Your Quill Spill has poured ink's power from my brain...must be a source for brain drain spoken of by another reader here.

Marge,
this poem gives new meaning to having a 'ghost writer' on hand to write your works.
Happy musing
