In his eyes, dark shadows lay, ...of sorrows, never spent, Evermore in masquerade, ...in search of pain's relent. Silence of unending night, ...never to begone, Daddy stands beside his bed, ...nevermore the dawn. Saltless tears in solitude, ...in dark, no angel's wing, Within his soul, hate's anguish kept, ...in ache of evil's sting. Soundless screams reverberate, ...within his naked soul, Seeking solace never found, ...he cedes to night's control. [This message has been edited by Mike (edited 03-14-2001).] |

This is darker than norm--but hey...I like it dark! Unusual for you though, I thought, "this wanted to be a sonnet...." but sometimes a sonnet won't do...beautifully expressed angst here. smiles to ya, from one who knows... |

Hi Mike--you bring the dark into this poem so well, just as you bring the light into others. You have a talent, my friend...that is apparent in everything you write. Well done! [This message has been edited by Martie (edited 03-15-2001).] |

I always read your poems several times before responding. This was almost too difficult to do so. An intensity here stops your reader cold, as I'm satisfied you are well aware. This is poetry ~ the dark, disturbing stories so often too difficult to tell in daylight hours of small talk and table manners. This is truth and I thank you for it.
