Oh, Come
Virginia Salter

Oh, come by here
and pinch a finch
within an inch
of springtime.

As gold turns green
and livens scene
and sun shines up the days
come play with me
within the trees
as light stretches out its rays.

There’s budding life
a flautist’s fife
and crimson reeds abound
lilting hours
above the bowers
all musically the sound.

Loved the rhythm of this one, and the thoughts of Spring
