Poetic Sisters of Soul A Tribute to Female Poets During March, International Women’s Month In our hearts we are sisters in this world of poetry Bound by one vision, that we are all allowed to be free We lean on each other, when so weary we can’t stand And know that the greatest sin, is to take a sister’s man We are fierce in our devotion, to family and to friends In our hearts there is no way to tell, where love begins or ends Hands reach out in sisterhood, without prejudice or pride To share the darkest secrets kept, hidden deep inside Looking back towards our ancestry, to those who’ve gone before We know all we’ve gained isn’t just, being first to go through a door We gained the right to learn and to learn from our mistakes We know what it means to lose and we know what winning takes We are sinners and we are angels, we are mothers and wives Bound together by appreciation of the joy in our lives Each day we thank God for the chance to be free To live, to love and most of all, to write our poetry. |

Right on Sistah!(slapping your hand)) You go girl, we sure are family! We are proud, loud and strong. I loved this, and thank you for thinking of all of us and the fact that what we may do is important! signature--> ~*~A poet is someone who reads more than they write ~*~ [This message has been edited by Poet deVine (edited 03-12-2001).] |

Sisters of the heart...what better way to be? Sisters from the start...through our love of poetry...Sisters through the good...heartfelt hugs when things go bad...This poetic sisterhood...is the best thing I've ever had. |

indeed. . . let us raise a glass. . . to female poets everywhere. . . they have sung the songs of love and life. . . and will always sing. . . for as long as time endures. . . --------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

And thank God for each and evryone of you because this would be one hell of a boring place without your complicated intuition....I know that for a fact........my wife said to me..."I worship the ground you walk on!" and you know what sure enough she ended up getting all my land and properties....... Oh well, here's a salute to all you great poetic gals...you're the greatest! The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

Yes, the blessing of a sister or the offer to BE a sister is sacred, it should never be taken for granted and it should always be sincere, without that, you have no real sister. Thank you for this one Kathleen Blake "When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass, and the sun drips honey."
