The thought of you vanishes like an object in the rear view mirror and the woeful eye quickly varnishes all that could bring me near you. Suddenly, out of nowhere, you’ve become my idol, and I’ve ceased to worship the man on the cross. If he really was Him, he would not stay idle, understanding that I am at such a loss. The pen crisscrosses the calendar with ardor, but alas, the time goes farther than any calendar. It has become so much harder to look forward to something rather than to look behind the shoulder, where a solid white line runs like an endless serpent, where the mirror reflects your stare, where I may appear (closer than I am) determined. ------------------ Check out more of my poetry here: http://www.unknownpoets.com/db/authors/master |

I too enjoyed the metaphors. I can't say that I can relate to this specific weakness but I can turn the meaning onto one of mine very easily. Wonderful write and cause much to reflect on. |
