Once upon a dreaming
I saw you sitting there
Gazing out over the restless water
A sad smile upon your lips.

Once upon a dreaming
I heard your hearts soft sigh
And I longed to take the pain away
To chase the sadness from your eyes.

Once upon a dreaming
I reached out to touch your face
To turn your eyes upon me
Hoping you could see all I am.

Once upon a dreaming
I offered you my love
But you turned your back on this future
Holding tight to your past.

Once upon a dreaming
I lost myself in you
Now I gaze out over the restless water
A sad smile upon my lips.

Paula dear heart, I love this one I truly do fabulous dear heart, utterly fabulous. I really lov ethe way this one feels you know!
Love you sister mine because you are truly beautiful in heart and spirit. And of course gorgeous to look at, I ought to be jealous I suppose love, for you have style, grace and beauty, combined with an awesome talent. But I'm not because you are far to precious to be jealous of.
Take care love and warm stuff

You've captured how some people are so unable to let go of yesterday, to reach tomorrow just beautifully. I compliment you Paula!

Wonderful poem about the cycle of life and love ...I know the feeling you're writing about here...and the writing is so good!...those restless waters seem to consume the thoughts sometimes........love to ya ethome
