Her Door

Her door is always open,
For some friend that might stop by;
But her steps are always covered,
With the leaves dropped from the sky.

She wants to fly to heaven,
Each night she goes to bed;
But dreams of dying scare her,
So she stays in hell instead.

Heaven must be a nice place,
For those who cannot stay;
On this speck of dust in the universe,
At least that's what they say.

The sun shines through her window,
Just like the day before;
But she won't be getting up today,
She won't open up her door.

No, she won't be getting up today,
This thought runs through her head;
She's finally found a true love,
Who will help her muss her bed.

Mike,

I just loved the ending here!! I didn't see it coming and that was definitely the best part!! Nice job!!

I shall echo the others.......I loved the ending. An excellent write! I applaud!

To hold tomorrow we must first be willing to let go of yesterday.
