When People Touch

it's been proven
yes, it's confirmed
woven in our senses
long past ages learned
is the importance of touch
something needed so much
not to be used as a crutch
but just the loving feel of touch

touch doesn't have to be
skin to skin
nor does touch have to be
kin to kin
and neither does touch
have to be thought as sin
for the kindest touch
is that within

if my thoughts are to touch
upon you
on what you say, or
what you do
or if my touch of word
can carry you through
please accept my touch
as I give it to you

a letter might touch
your voice says much
a written note or two
will more than make do
if flowers are sent
or a kind word spent
then we know feelings are lent
and we know what one meant

share…
share your care
take a dare and write
cast away shadows with your light
touch and be touched
give, and receive much

for every action, a reaction in kind
especially when you touch one's mind
but when you touch one's private heart
you've given of love that will not depart

so if I reach out and softly touch you
then know that you have touched me, too…

write with grace, all others lose face;
"Jo was very tall, thin, ... and reminded one of a colt..." LMA

your touch was felt
gently in my heart
softly in my mind
peacefully in my soul...

and has brought forth a poem I shall post from these thoughts...of yours

Wynter, Brian, thank you both. Brian, Sir, I imagine the picture you are speaking of are the hands with the small baby in them...am I correct? It is a lovely photo, one that I treasure. Thank you again.

Amazing how one can be touched, with just some simple word placement.... Very good, it touched me.

The picture I mentioned was taken at a sick children's hospital and is of two premature babies, one very strong, the other was quite weak. The nurse disreguarded hospital procedures and put the two babies together, the strong one put its arm around the weaker one as if trying to protect it,immediately the sick one started improving. This is a true story and when I received this pic it brought tears to my eyes. You are so right in the power of touch!!

I loved the whole poem. It is all so true. Sometimes we fail to realize how we've touched someone. And you certainly have with your poetry.
This is wonderful!
