Only now do I realize,
The error of my ways,
After those things I felt common,
Are taken away,
Already I miss,
All those gentle nothings,
A sparkling laugh,
A warm hand on my arm,
An unexpected hug,
All things witness to the love locked in my heart,
Deprived now,
Of even a glimpse of your smile,
Rival to the infinite beauty of a setting sun,
My mistake becomes clear,
I have taken for granted,
All the sweet affections,
Bestowed upon me by the unknowing vessel of my love,
How I miss these things,
From which I have been so suddenly severed,
These feelings come to me,
In the fleeting glimpse of a day,
And my only fear now is this,
That tomorrow will bring the same.

*sigh*.... i'm sure you've written for many today..... people often don't realize what they had until they make mistakes and lose it..... Love is so fragile......you've inspired me.... thank you

Taking love for granted is probably the surest way of losing it...but it just seems like a viscious cycle...you have to keep it as fresh as the day you first knew...wonderfully written
