Trying To Hold On While Letting Go Minds eye drifts, Soul desiring adventure Catches sight Of fog bank hovering About foot hills creating Islands in the sky Offering mystical places for Interludes of Visionary notions Seemingly beckoning me come Quench your souls longing No worldly regulations here Totally free of judgment Affording fancy-free state Desiring free’ness from Adult burden and consequences Raptured in awe to Land of milk and honey where Fairy’s fluttering about Gentle giants reside Dragons still roam afire And I fair maiden pursued By knight on pitch black steed Fought for in valiant effort Succumb to our every Lustfully graced desire But reality harkens me Not wanting to return Trying to hold on while letting go For one last fleeting moment Then I give in Entering the here and now Knowing it all but a dream Fantasy if you will Coffee cup is empty And voices calling in earnest My attentions turn To matters at hand Noticing a feeling of refreshment Contentment resides Where once lay frustration And anxiety Realizing to become Care-free And adventurous in mind-set Gives way to a healthier Outlook On life and the demands Of reality’s weightiness Knowing the fog will again return I can drift back at free will to Land of milk and honey If so desire By, Cerenity "God doesn't have to be reminded that we exist. We have to be reminded that He exist!" (Writer Unknown) [This message has been edited by Cerenity (edited 03-07-2001).] |

I could not help but think of Pinnochio when reading the first half of this piece. Then I began to think of Walter Mitty in the last half. Little escapes in the mind are likely a healthy pause. Surely that's what good writers are made of...and surely, they are able to return to life and living it in a state of awareness. Remember Pinnochio began to turn into a mule while in the land to escape the responsibility of growing up. |

Hi Vas, yes I do and some times I think a BIG NOSE would be worth escaping reality, but then I might not get the Knight, ears and a tail NO WAY! thank you so much for your kind reply, Love, Cerenity [This message has been edited by Cerenity (edited 03-07-2001).] |
